Engagement Session at Rifle River Recreation Area
Patty and Paul had their engagement session this month out at the Rifle River Recreation Area. We met at 5 p.m. and worked until sunset and then moved to the beach. My husband and I actually got there early to scout the area for some good spots to get images and got into the back of the park on one of the trails and got kind of lost! There are so many trails, some are one way, so you can't stop to turn around. You just have to keep going until you meet up with another trail. We even had our map on our phones, and still got turned around!
If you follow the trail to the right, you will pass the campground and the road turns to dirt. There is a nice spot close to the road where the river runs. We stopped there for some shots. Next to that is a bridge with the river running under it that is very picturesque. We found some beautiful birch tree clusters and a field that has tall dry grass that photographs beautifully in the late afternoon sun.
To get to the lake and beach, you need to turn around and go past the campground again and go east at the road to the entrance. There is a restroom you can use for changing before you get down to the beach. There is a swing set, and picnic tables down by the water. The water is so crystal clear. The sunset is gorgeous over the lake, but if it hasn't set yet, the glare is bright on the water. I've done more than one session here and it is really nice. No houses show in the distance, just trees and beach.
What to Do With Your Images
As for ordering and using your images, there are so many options. Here are a few examples:
Before you have your session, I suggest you look over your walls and see where you have room for images on your walls, and if you don't have a lot of wall space, you may want to order an album or desktop images. If you are interested in some of these products, contact me for a pricelist.
