The Buhlman Family Session

EXTENDED FAMILY WITH BABY

I photographed the oldest Buhlman child's senior pictures back in 2009. I also photographed the oldest son's senior pictures in 2017 , and they had a family portrait session in 2018 and now this year, 2022, they have a new grandson and scheduled a family session. They requested to wait until the fall, so they could have fall colors for their session. So many families love to have a portraits session in the fall, because the background is so vibrant.

Brilliant Colors and a Beautiful Day

Grandparents with baby boy and fall colors

We found this gorgeous road in Rose City, with overhanging maple trees, with so much brilliant color that it made the perfect backdrop for a family portrait session. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. It's so hard to plan two months ahead and guess when the colors will be at their peak, let alone get a good day with no rain. But it worked out perfectly. It was even in the 60's!

Baby John

We photographed the whole family together, then the grandparents with the baby, and then the new family of three, and then we photographed each individual.

We got lot's of images of that cute little boy, with smiles and giggles and peek-a-boo and pattycake. He was in a very good mood the whole time! So adorable!

Another Location Included in Their Family Session

Family session in the park in the fall

After we were finished in Rose City, we traveled over to West Branch to Iron's park. There is a covered bridge, a river and lot's of color and variety of backgrounds to use for portraits. Everyone really cooperated well, which made it a pleasure. Even the teenagers and dads had fun! I didn't hear any arguing or bickering between any of the kids. They all got along really well.

How Often Should I Schedule a Family Portrait Session?

Some people wonder how often they should schedule a family portrait session. And I think, as long as you have kids, who are growing, you should have one at least every 5 years. They change so much and grow so fast in that amount of time.

The Buhlman family coordinated their colors very well, but if you need a little help in choosing what to wear for a fall session, you can check out my Pinterest board on what colors to wear in the fall that go together well.

I want my clients to have a special and fun experience every time they book a session with me. That means finding new locations and props, and generally thinking outside the box. It's all worth it when my clients are overjoyed with their images!

If your family is due for a family portrait session, give me a call! Or go to my Contact Page and ask about my availability.
