Have you ever been to the east coast? The east coast of Michigan is what I mean! I love it over there! It is so pretty! Well, since Carl and Tonya vacation up there a lot, they planned their wedding on the water in Tawas, MI. Being in Tawas, it was a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony, in a lovely setting, on a warm and sunny day. In contrast to their engagement session, which took place on a frigid January day! Take a look at some of their engagement pictures and you'll see what I mean.

This is the beautiful intimate wedding ceremony site. Held at Shoreline Park - Tawas, MI. The ceremony was held right on the water facing Lake Huron.
Tonya was walked down the aisle by her father-in-law to-be.As you can see, the emotion showed on his face as he wiped away tears.
The cool little ringbearer with his very special ring delivery. Sunglasses were needed, because of the bright sunny day.

A special part of Carl and Tonya's intimate wedding ceremony was the sand ceremony. I wondered what the origins of this was, so I googled it:
Sand ceremonies can move outdoors with no problem at all. A sand ceremony involves a symbolic blending of two different-colored sands into a single vessel. The meaning: The blending of two different beings, the bride and the groom, into a single, inseparable unit that is their marriage -- the joining of their lives.

Now they are man and wife! The best man said in his speech at the reception, "You've been together 12 years and still like each other and want to get married! That's real LOVE!"
