Antique Village
The Antique Village, which is at the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds is made up of original buildings that have been donated to the Fairgrounds. As you enter the buildings, you will see what life was like back in the days of pioneers. For example, there is a General Store set up just like you would have seen it if you had lived back then.
You will see there a one-room school house, a church, and a printing press. You will see also, more than one original cabin that people actually lived in. In addition, you can see inside a bunkhouse (used by the CCC). On the property, you can tour a pottery barn, a blacksmith shop, a fire barn. Antiques of all shapes and sizes have been donated to the fair. By the way, they have a barn for the horses, with free horse drawn carriage rides. These buildings are only open for visitors during fair week. To see these exhibits, you will have to attend the fair next year!
About Bailey
Bailey Plott is a high school senior this year from Houghton Lake High School. Bailey plays volleyball in high school. She has a lot of energy and drive! After high school, Bailey has plans to go to college to be a Vet Tech. She loves animals, especially horses.
Bailey and her mother met me at the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds entrance for her location senior pictures. We headed for the Antique Village first, because there are a lot of old buildings with unique wood sidings.
Bailey has a beautiful smile. She's really looking forward to a smile without braces! Even with braces, she is at ease in front of the camera, and I really enjoyed photographing her. She seemed to enjoy it too!
As it started to get dark around 8:30, we headed over to the rides. My idea was to get some shots with the lights on in the background. We found a secluded spot right behind the Ferris wheel.
