Northern Michigan family session: What to wear?
It can be hot outside, but in Northern Michigan you never know what the weather will bring, but fear not. Here are some cool tips on what to wear to make sure your summer family photo session is a hit:
- Wear light fabrics that let you breath, but still look polished. It’s OK to show some skin, too. Shorts are good, as are tank tops. Although, if you are self-conscious of your arms, like I am, you may want to bring a very light lace shawl to throw over your arms, or lightweight ¾ length sleeves. A flowy dress for the ladies looks so nice when a breeze catches it.
- Really play up your accessories. I’m talking sun hats for both the boys and girls or headbands for the ladies and big sunglasses for all. (Hats can help when the wind is blowing and you have hair flying every which way.)
- You can even bring summertime props that complement your outfits. Maybe it’s a beach ball, balloons, giant lollipop or messy ice cream cone.
- Choose shoes that are comfortable and summery. Flip flops, loafers, open-toed pumps, maybe even throw off all the shoes and go barefoot!
- (Polish up those toenails, too!)
- Just a side note, when it's hot, don't forget to bring water bottles for everyone. And sometimes the bugs can be bothersome, so bringing bugspray is a great idea, even if you don't have to use it.
